Red Fthr

Music

A Spotify playlist that’ll remind you of your favorite deep v-neck shirt.

Red Fthr was a music blog that highlighted underground narratives within the independent music scene. What began as a convenient way to share music with friends, turned into a full side-hustle. Without giving it much of a go, redfthr.com gained the interest of listeners around the world with a traffic stat of around 12,000 unique visitors a month.

Take a trip down hipster memory-lane with some of my favorite tracks featured on Red Fthr.

From Digital to Print: Red Fthr Origin Story

During my first internship at a local magazine (Void Magazine). The editor, knowing I had a music blog, encouraged me to develop the music section. We decided on “Red Fthr” because dropping vowels and appropriating indigenous culture was super hip at the time. After a couple years of banging my head against the blogosphere, streaming music apps took hold and wrecked the hopes of many a young music-blogger, mine included.
